The invention relates to a device for exploiting wind energy using sails. The invention is characterised in that it comprises a car which is equipped with (i) wheels that are connected to an electric current generator by means of a pulley and (ii) sails with a rotating orientation. According to the invention, the wheels of the car are in contact with rails on which the car can move. In this way, the rails form a closed circuit and the sails harness and exploit the force of the wind in order to move the car along the rails by means of the wheels, such that, as the car is moved along the rails by the force of the wind exploited by the sails, the rotation of the wheels is transmitted to the car generator through the pulleys, thereby generating an electric current. Moreover, changes in the direction of the wind and changes in the orientation of the sails enable the car to travel along the closed circuit formed by the rails, such as to generate electric current.
