A device and a method for controlling power in a multi-core processor are provided to save power caused from unnecessary leakage current, manage processor performance in an optimal state, and minimize power consumption generated from each core by intelligently distributing the power according to usage of each core in the multi-core processor. The multi-core processor(350) includes more than two cores(310,320). Multiple power converters(300,301) independently adjust the power supplied to each core according to the usage of each core by connecting to each core of the multi-core processor. The power converter receives a different VID(Voltage ID) from each core and applies different voltage to each core according to the VID. The power converter includes multiple DC/DC converters applying DC power to each component by connecting to each core.
