<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device for detecting a person who is in an investigation area. <P>SOLUTION: The detection device is provided with a camera unit for recording the investigation area. The camera unit is arranged above the investigation area to record the area below the camera unit. The camera unit outputs recorded data as image data appropriately. The detection device is also provided with an evaluation unit for detecting various structural shape features of at least one person in the investigation area.
