<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter to be inserted into a living body for examination and treatment to smoothly separate a tissue. <P>SOLUTION: The balloon catheter is composed of a catheter body 1, a balloon part 2 integrally disposed with the distal end part 31b of the catheter body 1, and a tubular cover body 4 whose proximal end is fixed to the catheter body 1 for covering the balloon part 2 with the distal end part 31b of the balloon part 2 exposed.
