PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform processing for reproducing a rewritable disk by a drive of a read-only disk. SOLUTION: An WBBM (written block bit map) is recorded in a lead-in area of a rewritable disk. The WBBM is a bitmap which indicates recorded/unrecorded for each block which is a unit of recording/reproducing. A drive of a read-only disk enables seek, and finalization which records dummy data on the periphery of a recorded block is performed in order to make a servo stable. At this time, efficiency of processing can be improved by referring to the WBBM. Concentration of writing to the same area can be prevented by making a plurality of WBBMs ring structures and updating the WBBM in order, and compensation to destruction of WBBM by power failure etc. is attained.
