PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficiently reactor shutdown margin in an operation initial stage; to reduce reactivity at the breakage time of a void tube; to fix a coolant temperature; and to prevent deformation of a reflector effectively. SOLUTION: In this fast reactor wherein a hexagonal tube-shaped wrapper tube 1 is arranged on the core part of a reactor vessel, and a cylindrical control rod guide tube 3 is inserted into the wrapper tube, and a control rod 4 can be moved up and down along the control rod guide tube, a neutron absorber 9 is installed in a gap part 8 between the wrapper tube and the control rod guide tube.
