PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface anodization apparatus where, regarding a metallic component having a recessed surface, a metal oxide film is formed at the recessed part. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a first electrode contacted with a metallic work having a ring-shaped recessed part on the side circumferential face and energizing an electric current; a second electrode formed with an electrolytic solution passage having an inner circumferential face surrounding the side circumferential face of the work, and having a discharge hole communicated with the electrolytic solution passage and confronted with the recessed part at the inner circumferential face; an electrolytic solution feeding means of feeding an electrolytic solution to the electrolytic solution passage, and jetting the electrolytic solution from the discharge hole toward the recessed part; and an energizing means of applying a voltage to the space between the first electrode and the second electrode. In the apparatus, a sound metal oxide film can be uniformly formed at the recessed part of the work at a high speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
