PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the heating of a heating part cease when it could be easily exposed in view of a fear of making children playing contact the heating part when a heating vessel or surrounding hot parts are exposed or almost exposed with a cover simply coming off when it is not fixed with a screw or the like after cleaning instead of being done at a given point of its body. SOLUTION: The popcorn making toy incorporates a cover part over a heating plate, a retaining piece (245) provided to fix the cover part on the body part and a main switch (431) capable of heating the heating plate while a microswitch (441) also built in the body part is turned on when the retaining piece (245) is located at the optimum position.
