A method for controlling a brush motor is provided to check the state of a brush by measuring a current using a power supplied intermittently by the brush in case of a DC motor having several rotation coils. In a method for controlling a brush DC motor, current variation due to a brush is measured. A passing signal of the brush is extracted by processing the measured value including noise in a calculation apparatus. Speed and the amount of rotation of the motor are estimated in the signal.
