A method for setting operation modes of function keys in a car audio is provided to allow a user to arbitrarily convert or reset the operation modes of the function keys which are arranged on the car audio. A predetermined mode conversion key is inputted for converting an operation mode of a function key. A specific key is searched and selected among a plurality of function keys which is provided on a car audio(520). An operation mode corresponding to the selected specific key is searched and selected(540). The operation mode corresponding to the selected specific key is set such that the specific key is operated according to the selected operating mode(560).
