<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining the occurrence of color slippage while restraining the number of stopping times of printing operation and the consumption of toner. <P>SOLUTION: By noticing that the cause of the color slippage is different according to the variation of in-machine temperature, an appropriate means is selected in accordance with the cause of the color slippage. The speed of a transfer belt, which changes in accordance with the in-machine temperature, is used as the reference of selection. When the change of the in-machine temperature is small, the color slippage is caused by the change of the speed of the transfer belt, so that environment where the color slippage is caused is taken away by adjusting the speed of the transfer belt. In order to adjust the speed of the transfer belt, neither the printing operation is stopped nor the toner is consumed, so that the occurrence of the color slippage is restrained while restraining the number of stopping times of the printing operation and the consumption of the toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
