POWER OUTPUT DEVICE, AUTOMOBILE MOUNTED THEREWITH, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR POWER OUTPUT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a driver from feeling rushing-out feeling of a vehicle when a transmission interposed between a motor and a driving shaft is up-shifted under the condition where torque is output from the motor.

SOLUTION: When the transmission is requested to be up-shifted, a torque command Tm2* of the motor is reset to output a relatively large torque from the motor to the driving shaft (S200) when a torque (Tm2*)×(Gr) to be output from the motor to the driving shaft is less than a threshold value Tref (S180, S190), and the transmission is up-shifted under the condition (S240). An increase in a torque output to the driving shaft by an inertia torque generated in accompaniment to the upshifting thereby negates a decrease of the torque output to the driving shaft from the motor in the upshifting, and the rushing-out feeling of the vehicle is restrained from being imparted to the driver.
