PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a three-dimensional object that can improve the productivity, and a substrate for manufacturing a three-dimensional object. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of this three-dimensional object forms cross-section objects 1 matching the sliced floating patterns of the desired solid object on the 1st substrate 10 through a retaining material 7 (connecting material 2), and disposes an intermediate materials 93 between the 1st substrate 10 and the cross-section objects 1 to prevent the connecting material 2 from breaking, when connecting other cross-section objects in the following steps. Then, it stacks the cross-section objects 1 by sequentially transferring and connecting them on the 2nd substrate. In the step of disposing intermediate materials 93, their materials that are the interposed materials 93, such as the photoresist resin 91 are applied to the 1st substrate 10 and hardened. If the resin 91 partly or entirely covers at least either the retaining materials or the cross-sectioned objects, the covering resin 91 is removed by ashing for instance.
