PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for producing a rubber roller which suppress the occurrence of defectives and defective conveyance during production. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the rubber roller, a core bar, after being coated with a hot melt adhesive, is coated with a rubber material. Before the coating with the rubber material, the core bar coated with the adhesive is cooled. The apparatus for producing the rubber roller is equipped with a guide means for guiding the core bar coated with the hot melt adhesive in advance to be coated with the rubber material and a coating means for coating the guided core bar with the rubber material. The guide means has a cooling means. Thereby, the occurrence of defectives caused by incorrect adhesive strength of an adhesive is controlled, and the occurrence of defective conveyance etc. , caused by an adhesive is suppressed.
