PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HTTP server capable of data transmission/reception between communication terminals utilizing advantages of facsimile transmission and an electronic mail by using HTTP. SOLUTION: A center server 1 causes a communication section 11 to receive destination information and application communication information or the like together with data to be transmitted from a transmitter side communication terminal, and stores the received information in an original document database 14. At this time, the center server 1 searches a terminal database 13 based on the destination information, acquires the reception capability of a communication terminal of a transmission destination, and determines whether or not the data to be transferred are within the range of reception capability. If out of the reception capability, data reception is made to be error, or the data are automatically converted so as to be within the range of the reception capability. When the communication terminal of the transfer destination accesses to receive the data, the data for this communication terminal are transferred, and data transfer between communication terminals completes.
