PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upwelling current-producing structure doubling as a fishbank, high in fish gathering and breeding effects and in upwelling current-producing effect, easy to make a work and low in installation cost, and affording stable and safe maintenance even if exposed to violent waves or tidal current after constructed, and to provide a method for efficiently constructing the structure. SOLUTION: The method for constructing the upwelling current-producing structure doubling as a fishbank comprises the following procedure: In a quadratic prism-shaped hollow frame as a combination of frame members, four skeletal members 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d are extended inward from the frame members standing against each other left and right and joined together at the inward center of the hollow frame. A plurality of the resultant constructions A are randomly stacked at the bottom of the sea followed by randomly stacking thereon a plurality of constructions B the same in the structure as the constructions A and each having an empty volume about one-eighth that of the construction A so as to be of chevron shape or mountain-chain shape as a whole. It is preferable that the constructions A be identical in size and shape with each other and the constructions B be identical in shape with each other, and both of the constructions A and B be cubic in particular.
