PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge-pressing mechanism by which depressions made in pulling out foliage are buried and potatoes are not exposed to light since there is a problem that depressions made on parts in pulling out foliage, potatoes are exposed to light and greened. SOLUTION: The ridge-pressing mechanism has constitution that in a foliage treatment machine with which ridge pressing bodies having pressing surfaces curved along the ridge side surfaces are symmetrically arranged across a central foliage passage interval, foliage parts are nipped from right and left and pulled out at foliage pulling out parts while pressing the roots of crops on a ridge by the ridge pressing bodies, band plate-like soil retaining plates in a standing state are attached to the tops of the lateral external sides of the ridge pressing bodies long in the longitudinal direction and opposingly laterally.
