SAFETY-STOP DEVICE

A safety-stop device 10 for use with a trochar 50 which is adjustably attachable to the trochar tube 54 to prevent inadvertent cuts being made to a patient. The safety-stop device 10 has retention component 13, 30, 40 for retaining it onto the trochar tube 54; a registration component 13, 30, 40 for registering a pre-determined insertion point of the trochar; a stop component 12, 212 for preventing additional insertion of the trochar after the pre-determined insertion point has been attained; and a plurality wings 212 with apertures 214 on the base for securely suturing the safety-stop to a patient by suturing through the apertures and into the patient.
