An authentication system comprises a service use device (1) for presenting blur information obtained by blurring verification information to be verified, service providing devices (3a to 3c) for checking the validity of the presented blur information , and an authentication device (2) for supporting issuance of the verified blur information by the service use device (1). The authentication device (2) adds a digital signature to information including the verification information and the blur information and creates authentication information including the digital signature, verification information, and the blur information (S2). The service use device (1) creates authentication information including blur information selected according to the instruction of the user, instruction information representing the instruction, and the digital signature from the authentication information created by the authentication device (2) (S4). The service providing devices (3a to 3c) verify the validity of the blur information represented by the instruction information included therein according to the digital signature included in the blur authentication information in respect of the blur authentication information created by the service use device (S6).
