A handwriting character image transfer service for a mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to write a message with an electronic pen and send the written message to other mobile terminals by transferring an image including characters to other mobile terminals. The user writes the message on a screen of the mobile terminal with the pen. The image including the written characters is converted into an image file without converting the characters into a Unicode value and the mobile terminal transfers the image file to other mobile terminals. A thickness, color, and eraser menu is added to the screen of the mobile terminal.
