A vacuum cleaner is provided to improve the airtight performance of the dust collecting apparatus by installing the sealing member between the dust collecting container and the cyclone chamber. A vacuum cleaner comprises: a body; a cyclone chamber(310) having a first cyclone(311) communicated with the body to separate the air from the impurities, and at least one second cyclone(313) installed at the outer perimeter of the first cyclone to separate the air discharged from the first cyclone from the impurities; an air suction apparatus(150) having air suction and discharge ports; a dust collecting container(330) containing first and second dust storage units; and a container mounting and removing apparatus for combining/separating the container and the cyclone chamber. The container mounting and removing apparatus contains a lifting member mounted at the body of the cleaner, and an operating lever for controlling the movement of the lifting member.
