A Kimchi storage and a method for defrosting thereof are provided to prevent the frost from generating in the storage by operating the defrosting operation twice and discharging the left frozen water through a drain valve. A Kimchi storage comprises a defrosting heater(150) located higher than an ageing heater on the outer peripheral surface of an inner container to heat according to the power supply; a drain valve(160) connected to the lower unit of the inner container to discharge the solidified water at the bottom; a counter for measuring and checking the operation time of an evaporator; a cavity temperature sensor(174) for sensing the cavity temperature of the storage; an evaporator temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the evaporator; and a control unit receiving signals from the counter, the cavity temperature sensor and the evaporator temperature sensor and comparing the signals with the set defrosting condition range, then computing the defrosting time for defrosting if corresponding with the defrosting condition range, sequentially turning on a first and second operation switch to operate the defrosting heater and the ageing heater in turns, and turning on a third operation switch to discharge the solidified water through the drain valve after operating.
