METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOW-SULFUR LIGHT HYDROCARBON OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly method for producing low-sulfur light hydrocarbon oil with reduced energy consumption, wherein light hydrocarbon oil containing disulfides as essential sulfur compounds is desulfurized by an adsorbent which is regenerated and repeatedly used. SOLUTION: The method for producing the low-sulfur light hydrocarbon oil comprises a step wherein the light hydrocarbon oil which contains disulfides and contains≤10 ppm mercaptans having 4 or more carbons is treated with the adsorbent to reduce sulfur content in the light hydrocarbon oil to≤10 ppm and a step wherein the used adsorbent is subjected to a heat-treatment at 300-600°C and regenerated.
