PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive induction heating fixing device which includes a means for detecting a voltage applied to an exciting coil or an electric current flowing in the exciting coil and can control an inverter device, without causing a failure and a stress in the inverter device as a fixing power supply, even when the temperature of a fixing sleeve approaches a Curie point, as an induction heating fixing device using a member having the Curie point at the temperature higher than a fixing temperature as an electromagnetic induction heat-generating member, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the inexpensive induction heating fixing device. SOLUTION: A magnetic material having the Curie point at the temperature higher than the fixing temperature is used for the fixing sleeve and the means for detecting the voltage or current of the exciting coil is provided.
