PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, although good dispersibility or redispersibiliy and uniform distribution or redistribution are essential for the assured exhibition of antifouling, antibacterial, and antifungal effects when a compound selected from a metal/pyrithione complex compound and a combination of a metal/pyrithione complex compound and/or a metal pyrithion, and/or a metal oxide is formulated into an aqueous or organic solvent-type products, the great difference among these components often causes not necessary good dispersibility and distribution. SOLUTION: It is possible to improve the dispersion stability and uniformity of the composition by finely grinding the antimicrobial composition to an extent that the average particle diameters of the respective components reduce to 0.1 to 1.5μm or by adding a metal oxide of an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 1.0μm.
