<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a structure that calking projection parts for biting to a male serration are provided at two positions in an axial direction of a female serration and collapse load at impact absorption is stabilized and to achieve a manufacturing method in which such a structure is easily and certainly assembled. <P>SOLUTION: In the steering shaft, in the completed state as shown in Fig. (C), the respective projection parts 13a, 13b are bitten to a front end side (left side of Fig.) portion than a recession groove 14 of the male serration 12 respectively. When such a structure is assembled, as shown in the order of Fig. (A)→(B)→(C), the respective projection parts 13a, 13b are successively formed utilizing the recession groove 14 and a calking fixture 15 while a rear end of an inner shaft 10 is inserted to an inner side of a front end of an outer shaft 9a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
