<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an apparatus manufacturing cost by reducing the number of components, and also, to simplify processing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes a freely opening/closing front cover 20, a remaining quantity detecting sensor 4 for detecting the remaining toner quantity, and a moving mechanism 5 of moving the remaining quantity detecting sensor 4 between a retreat position and a detecting position. The moving mechanism 5 includes a link member 50, an energizing spring 51 and a sensor attaching member 52. A projecting part 21 is formed on the front cover 20, and in a state that the front cover 20 is closed, the link member 50 of the moving mechanism 5 is pushed in a direction (-Y). On the other hand, in a state that the front cover 20 is opened, the link member 50 is energized by the energizing spring 51 in a direction (+Y). With such the movement of the link member 50, the remaining quantity detecting sensor 4 is directly moved upward and downward via the sensor attaching member 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
