<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein it is difficult to discriminate whether an image has a converted aspect ratio in a receiver since the aspect information of a digital video signal is not always inputted by a broadcast station, and a side panel is not also always silent in digital broadcasting. <P>SOLUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver can receive a broadcasting signal for handling video having a plurality of kinds of aspect ratios. There is a discrimination means for discriminating whether a video signal is the video into which the video signal decoded by a video decoder is stored, where an additional image is added to perform transmission with an aspect ratio differing from that of original video. By the discrimination means, the presence or absence of the additional image of the broadcasting signal is discriminated by detecting a still image at a prescribed region in the video signal in decoding by the video decoder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
