<p>The arrangement has a partial circuit (15) formed for determining average value from an input signal applied on the arrangement and another partial circuit determining a maximum value from the input signal applied on the arrangement. A comparator circuit (17) produces a comparison signal from output signals of the circuits, where the output signals characterize the average value and the maximum allowable crest factor, respectively.
