Process for jet treatment of integrally bladed rotor surfaces

The method involves providing an integral bladed rotor (15) and a barrel finishing system (10), and arranging the rotor in a grinding container (11) of the system. The container is filled with radiating balls (16), and the system that is filled with the rotor and the balls is operated for acceleration of the balls. The rotor is reinforced at a surface of rotor blades (17) and in an annular space between the blades by the accelerated balls. An independent claim is also included for a use of a barrel finishing system for radiating a surface of an integral bladed rotor e.g. integral bladed gas turbine rotor.
