There is provided a recording pulse generation device capable of forming a recording pit of an appropriate form even at an ultra-high-speed recording such as the standard speed multiplied by eight or more. The recording pulse generation device includes a recording control unit (10) for generating a recording pulse signal having a length corresponding to respective pit lengths when information is recorded by forming pits of 10 or more length types. The recording control unit (10) generates the recording pulse signal in such a manner that the amplitude of the recording pulse signal corresponding to the pit having length 4T varies from a first amplitude to a second amplitude and generates the recording pulse signal in such a manner that the amplitude of the recording pulse signal corresponding to the pit having length not smaller than 5T varies from a third amplitude to a fourth amplitude.
