<p>The cover comprises a carrier layer with external printing on the smooth outer face and an inward facing sealing layer which is embossed on the free side to a depth of NOTGREATER 50 microns allowing easier isolation of individual covers. An Independent claim is made for a process for manufacturing the container cover in which a sealing layer is extruded or coextruded onto a carrier material and the laminate passed between pressure and cooling rolls with the carrier facing the pressure roll. The surface pattern of the cooling roll is transferred onto the extruded coating to form an embossed sealing layer.</p> |
