a cover assembly inducting a cover layer (10) secured to a first impact resistant thermoplastic layer (14), and an outer layer (12) on the cover layer whose outer surface has been formed so as to present a decorative finish. A second impact resistant thermoplastic layer (16) is secured to the first impact resistant thermoplastic layer (14) and in which an IC chip (22) is at least partly embedded,
