A tape for a tape carrier package is provided to prevent inner leads from being bent or damaged by fixing and supporting the inner leads using a lead lock. A device window is formed at a center of a base film. Leads(22) are exposed at one surface of the device window at predetermined intervals. A lead lock tape is formed of an insulating material. The lead lock tape crosses the leads, and is attached to the leads to fix and support them. The lead lock tape fixes and supports centers or ends of the leads. The lead lock tape is attached to both surfaces of leads or only one surface of the leads. The leads are divided into a plurality of regions. The lead lock tapes fix and support each of the regions of the leads.
