An electromagnetic relay is provided to reduce the volume of the relay by achieving flatness up and down, and to have compactness in comparison with the number of electrodes, by improving assembly workability of mounted components. In an electromagnetic relay, an electromagnetic block(5) has an iron core wound with a coil. A moving block(6) is moved positively by excitation and device of the electromagnetic block while having an iron piece absorbed into or separated from a magnetic pole of the corresponding electromagnetic block. A moving body performs a reciprocating motion along a straight direction in response to the positive movement. A plurality of contact tools(2,3) is operated by the movement of a corresponding moving body. The electromagnetic block and the moving block are arranged on a corresponding base(1), and a fixed contact piece(10,12) and a moving contact piece(11,13) of the plural contact tools are arranged to be parallel with a bottom of the base.
