A point of display document dispenser (10) consists of a coupling means, for accepting coupling of a portable electronic memory device (22). Preferably the electronic memory device (22) consists of either flash memory, random access memory, or a magnetic disc. The document dispenser (10) further consists of a detection means for automatically detecting when a portable electronic memory device (22) is coupled with said coupling means and providing out put indicative thereof; and data transfer means, wherein the data transfer means operates on the condition that the detecting means has transferred an electronic document to the portable memory device (22). The identity or identifying details of a person inserting the memory device need not be disclosed. However, a trusted third party, such as an exhibition/ trade show holder, may hold the identifying details of the person, for marketing details. It is intended that the document dispenser (10) will replace hard-copy document distribution at a trade show/ exhibition. |
