A discharge display device having two electrodes formed in a partition plate is provided to directly emit the visible ray generated by discharge in through-cells, by excluding dielectric layers for electrode lines and forming discharge spaces in the through-cells. In a discharge display device having a discharge display panel(200) and a driving device driving the discharge display panel, the discharge display panel comprises a partition plate(280) provided with through-cells(230) and positioned between first and second substrates(210,220), and address and scan electrode lines(270,260) provided with apertures correspondent to the through-cells and positioned in the partition plate. The driving device divides a unit frame into plural sub fields and executes addressing and sustaining operations in the unit sub field by driving the address and scan electrode lines.
