A screen image display method of a mobile terminal is provided to reduce time required for displaying a screen image and to construct layers of many application programs by using a smaller space of a memory. A resource ID group for a screen display is configured for each application program provided in a mobile terminal(S21). The configured resource ID group is registered to a layer of each application program(S22). A layer of an application program to be currently executed, among the configured layers, is activated(S23). Data corresponding to a resource ID list configured at each activated layer is read through a resource manager and copied to a memory(S24-S28). An LCD screen processing unit processes the copied data to restore a screen image of the application program and displays it(S29).
