A reader for an immunochromatographic test which can be adapted to a plurality of immunochromatographic test tools different in their outer shapes and has a structure enabling easy management of immunochromatographic test tools and information on the immunochromatographic test tools while associating them with each other. When an immunochromatographic test piece contained in an immunochromatographic test tool is irradiated with a measurement light, the reader detects the light from the immunochromatographic test piece. A cartridge removable from the reader comprises a holding portion for holding an immunochromatographic test tool containing an immunochromatographic test piece, an information holding portion for holding information on the immunochromatographic test tool, and a structure for guiding the immunochromatographic test tool to the position where the immunochromatographic test piece is irradiated with a measurement light.
