A shock absorbing structure of a signpost in a road is provided to protect a passenger, to cut down repairing cost, and to reduce working hours by absorbing impact with a lower structure of the support at a collision. A shock absorbing structure of a signpost in a road includes a wall(2) shutting off inflow of earth, a lower plate(5) horizontally extended from a lower part of the wall to a road, a support(10) arranged in the middle of the lower plate, a support block(20) mounted in a lower part of the support and moved back and forth, a cover block(30) covering an upper part of the support block, a moving member(40) installed in a rear part of the support block and moved back and forth to move an insertion part through the wall into earth at a collision, a spring(50) inserted between the wall and the moving member, and buffer members(60) inserted at both sides of the spring. Impact applied to a driver is reduced, and breakage of the support is restricted by absorbing shock with the cover block, the spring and the buffer member.
