FIELD: protection of metals against corrosion; pumps of all types working in aggressive media and provided with cylinder-piston contact groups. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed cathodic protection of oil-well sucker-rod pumps is characterized by form of protector made on external surface of pump cylinder as coat of aluminum, magnesium and zinc or in form of cylinder made from the same alloys; length of this cylinder is lesser than length of pump cylinder by length of thread for extension sleeves at its ends; protector surface is coated with polymer film. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of protection of pump cylinder inner surface against wear and corrosion caused by water, aggressive media and dissimilar metals.
