An organic electroluminescence device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a lowering of light emission efficiency due to an interference of incident external light by applying a polarization board to a protecting unit. In an organic electroluminescence device(30), an organic light emitting diode includes a first electrode(36) formed on a face of substrate(32), an organic light emitting unit(38) formed on a face of the first electrode(36), and a second electrode(40) formed on a face of the organic light emitting unit(38). A protecting unit(42) includes a transparent protective layer(72) closely formed on a lateral and an upper faces of the organic light emitting diode and a polarization board(74) formed on a face of the transparent protective layer(72).
