The head (1) has a tapered cavity (2) for its fixation on a male frustum of a cone (3) of the neck of a femoral rod (4) for being engaged in a diaphysis channel of a femur. The head is articulated in a cavity (5) with a prosthetic or natural complimentary shape fixed to the acetabulum of a patient. The cavity (2) is covered of a layer of ductile and/or malleable biocompatible material which adapts itself to the geometry of the cone of the rod.
