#CMT# #/CMT# The assembly has a seat comprising a backrest (2) and a base (3), which is mounted on a floor pan of a vehicle by using a connecting rod (7). The rod has an end (8) mounted on the base in rotation along a transversal axis (9) and an end (10) mounted in translation in a recess (11) integrated with the floor pan. The recess is provided such that the end (10) of the rod is disposed in front part of the recess in the utilization position of the base and the backrest. The end (10) of the rod is disposed in a rear part of the recess in a folded position of the base and the backrest. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for assembling a seat on a floor pan of a motor vehicle (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The connecting rod`s end is displaced toward the rear part of the recess integrated with the floor pan of the vehicle, so that the movement toward the front of the base of the seat is reduced and hence the base is prevented from contacting the seat before the seat is folded. The arrangement of the connecting rod avoids the submarining effects and the efforts exerted by a seat occupant are captured by the rod.
