<p>#CMT# #/CMT# A detachable support shelf (1), with a top surface (7) for receiving and supporting objects, has a bottom surface (2) with at least one incomplete cylindrical housing (3a, 3b, 3d, 3e) which can engage the top end (4) of a control column (5) with little clearance. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is included for a measuring column (5) provided at the top end with a shelf as above. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The shelf and shelf-column assembly are useful in factory work stations, e.g. for machine operators, for holding work tools and instruments (specifically metrology tools such as comparators or standard pieces) on a measuring column (or stand). They are especially useful for workers using many tools and/or operating several machines simultaneously. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Work tools (and also files, papers etc.) are protected against loss and impact, while remaining directly and readily accessible to the operator and without interfering with the operation of the tools.
