A system and a method for driving the interactive multimedia in a broadband convergence network are provided to selectively download a software platform and an application program by using position information. A multi-casting stream server transmits multimedia information and position information of a software platform and an application program to an integrated multimedia medium through a broadband convergence network. A platform storage server(50) stores various software platforms for driving application programs. An application program storage server stores various programs for executing bidirectional multimedia. A set top box(10) selectively downloads the software platform and application software from the servers and drives the bidirectional multimedia.
