The pipe buckles laterally under the influence of the applied force. The force is decomposed into three perpendicular components, where one component is perpendicular to an axis of the pipe at the level of the point of application of the force. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for controlling lateral buckling of a sub-marine pipe e.g. simple rigid pipe and pipe-in-pipe, utilized for transporting a fluid e.g. hydrocarbon, and installed on a sea-bed (claimed), where buckling occurs under the effect of axial compression forces resulting from a conjugated effect of temperature and pressure of the fluid circulating in the pipe and of hydrostatic pressure, and the pipe is connected to an equipment e.g. manifold and crossing. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Permanent application of the component perpendicular to the axis of the pipe permits to initiate and control lateral buckling of the pipe in a simple, easy, economic and effective manner, thus ensuring the integrity of the pipe and the equipment connected to the pipe.
