The head has a treatment unit (4) e.g. high intensity focused sound (HIDU) transducer, that is formed by a therapy device utilizing focused ultrasound and emits waves or rays for treating a tissue or an organ of a living being e.g. patient. The unit (4) extends on entire width delimited by a mounting edge except for a window. A mounting body (1) is provided on which the unit (4) is mounted at the level of the mounting edge. The mounting edge is provided with an electrically insulating liner (17) which is mounted on the mounting body.
