LCD HAVING RESIN BLACK MATRIX ALLOWED POLARIZING FUNCTION

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having a resin black matrix with a polarization function is provided to prevent poor alignment caused by a resin black matrix and prevent light leakage by improving optical density. An LCD includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a lower polarizer and an upper polarizer. The array substrate includes thin film transistors and pixel electrodes. The color filter substrate is opposite to the array substrate and includes a resin black matrix and a color filter. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The lower polarizer and the upper polarizer are respectively attached to the outer sides of the array substrate and the color filter substrate and have transmission axes in the same direction. The resin black matrix is given a polarization function and has a transmission axis perpendicular to the transmission axes of the upper and lower polarizers.
