<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a rear seat which develops and expands an air bag in such a manner that each bag section which covers a rear window and side windows dissolves the folding without interfering with each other. <P>SOLUTION: For this air bag device M for a rear seat, the air bag 20 is folded and housed on the upper edge sides of the rear window RW and the right and left side windows SW, and the air bag device M for the rear seat has a bag section 27 for the rear and bag sections 40 for the right and left sides which cover the cabin sides of the rear window RW and the side windows SW. The air bag is developed and expanded by a gas for expansion which flows in from one flow-in port section 26 which is arranged on the upper side of the bag section for the rear. In a space between the bag section for the rear and the bag sections for the right and left sides on the upper edge sides of the air bags, a gas passage 41a is arranged in order to make the gas for expansion flow from the bag section for the rear to the bag sections for the sides.
